Cockroach Problem in Melbourne? Gone Today.

Same-day cockroach treatment across all of Melbourne. Professional-grade products. 3-month callback guarantee.

If you've seen one cockroach, there are hundreds more hiding in your walls, under your appliances, and inside your roof void. Cockroaches breed fast, contaminate food, spread bacteria, and trigger asthma.

The supermarket spray pushes them deeper into your home, it doesn't eliminate them.

Cimex Pest Management uses professional gel baiting, residual sprays, and targeted treatments that reach where cockroaches actually live  and wipe out the colony, not just the ones you can see.

Why Cockroaches Are Harder to Eliminate Than You Think?

Cockroaches are one of the most resilient pests on the planet. They've survived 300 million years of evolution and they're built to outlast every DIY product on the market.

Here's what makes them so difficult:

They hide where sprays can't reach. Cockroaches spend 75% of their time inside wall cavities, behind appliances, under sinks, in roof voids, and in subfloor spaces areas a supermarket spray never touches.

One female produces hundreds of offspring. A single German cockroach can be responsible for up to 300 offspring in her lifetime. A small problem becomes a full infestation in weeks.

They develop resistance. Repeated use of the same DIY spray products causes cockroaches to develop chemical resistance making the problem harder and more expensive to fix over time.

They contaminate everything they touch. Cockroaches carry Salmonella, E. coli, and other pathogens on their legs and bodies. Every surface they walk across is contaminated.

Professional treatment is the only way to break the breeding cycle not just kill the ones you can see.

The two most common cockroaches in Melbourne homes are treated completely differently. If you apply the wrong treatment to the wrong species, you make the problem significantly worse. We know the difference. Most DIY products don't account for it.

🪳 Australian Cockroach- Large, reddish-brown, usually 35–40mm. Typically found outdoors, in roof voids, subfloors, garden beds, and wood piles. Comes inside searching for food and water, especially during Melbourne's hot, dry summers. Responds well to residual spray and perimeter barrier treatments. One thorough treatment with a follow-up check is typically enough to eliminate an infestation.

Signs you have Australian cockroaches: Large brown cockroaches appearing at night near drains, under fridges, or crawling in from outside. Often found in laundries, bathrooms, and near water sources.

🪳 German Cockroach- Small, light brown, 12–15mm. Almost exclusively indoor, kitchens, bathrooms, inside appliances, electrical equipment, and cupboard hinges. The most prolific breeder of any cockroach species. Requires a specialist gel baiting protocol and does NOT respond to standard residual sprays. In fact, spraying German cockroaches scatters the colony and makes the problem significantly worse.

Signs you have German cockroaches: Small light brown cockroaches in the kitchen or bathroom. Droppings that look like black pepper or coffee grounds on bench tops. A musty oily smell in the kitchen. Egg casings found behind appliances or in cupboard hinges. Cockroaches inside the fridge motor, dishwasher, or microwave.

If you've been spraying repeatedly with no lasting result then you almost certainly have German cockroaches and the wrong treatment is making things worse. Call us.

Australian Cockroach vs German Cockroach
This Distinction Matters

German cockroaches are the hardest cockroach species to eliminate and the most commonly misdiagnosed pest in Melbourne homes. If you've called a pest company before, used sprays repeatedly, and the cockroaches keep coming back — there is a very high chance you have German cockroaches and they have been treated incorrectly every time.

Why standard sprays fail on German cockroaches: Residual sprays repel German cockroaches rather than killing them. When sprayed, they scatter deeper into wall cavities and electrical appliances — spreading the infestation further rather than eliminating it. Every time they are sprayed without being baited, the colony disperses and becomes harder to treat.

Our German cockroach protocol: We apply professional gel bait to every identified harbourage point — inside cupboard hinges, behind appliances, in cracks and crevices around pipe penetrations, and along wall junctions where cockroaches travel. The gel bait is carried back to the nest and eliminates the colony from the inside out, including eggs.

We then schedule a follow-up re-evaluation visit at the two-week mark: this is essential for German cockroaches. Treatment success needs to be assessed, bait needs to be replenished where activity is still present, and new harbourage points identified if the colony has moved. Eliminating a German cockroach infestation properly is a process, not a one-visit fix. We will always be honest with you about that from the start.
